Happy Halloween
Celebrating Halloween in Hawaii was so much warmer than in Nevada. Normally we have to come up with costumes that are warm and layered. This year Meagan got be a cute little ladybug and I didn't have to track down matching tights or under shirts :-) Our church put together a haunted house and we were able to go and help out. It was very fun to get to be a part of this community a little bit more. While my parents were visiting we also got to go to a pumpkin patch. Meagan was scared of the pumpkins.

Meagan's 1st Birthday in Hilo, Hawaii
Wow! It has already been one year since God gave us our precious baby girl, Meagan Olivia Friend. What a year it has been too. Mike and I were able to celebrate her first birthday together in Hilo, Hawaii. We had some cake and bought her a cute little elephant toy that she carries around with her. She loves it when daddy gets home to play with her. Meagan will carry the elephant all the way across the room to daddy so they can play, it is so cute. In Hawaii the 1st birthday is the most important and the biggest celebration out of them all. Hawaiians will spend thousands of dollars and invite everyone that they know. Up until recently, due to inadequate health care, most children did not make it to their first birthday. They call it their Aloha birthday.
Meagan and I were also fortunate to be able to come to Reno and celebrate her birthday with family and friends. Once I gather all those pictures I will post some from that trip. It was so fun! For now here are pics from her Aloha birthday in Hilo.
