Cupcakes

Last weekend I sold cupcakes at the Kamahalo Craft Fair in Volcano. I was nervous that no one would want them and I would be stuck with all these cupcakes! As it turns out, we sold out before noon the first day! It was so crazy. So I had to go home and bake so I could have something to sell the next day.  It was so much fun. All in all I made over 200 cupcakes and frosted them. I sold red velvet, pumpkin spice, chocolate and pineapple. It was so much fun! I think my next cupcake adventure will be the farmer's market the week before Christmas. I am trying to come up with a cute Christmas tree cupcake.

Meagan says "Hi!"

I can't believe it is already Thanksgiving week!  We have been living here in Hilo for more than 4 months now.  It has been a big adjustment but we are settling in and getting used to it. It is really strange though to still have 80 degree weather in November!  I don't feel like it is almost winter at all. It is really fun to hear everyone back in Reno talking about the snow.  We found out that in a couple months it will snow on top of Mauna Kea (our tallest mountain) and we can go sledding! We also learned that they don't sell sleds here so everyone just uses boogie boards and inner tubes! We were  invited to the Boyd Ohana's(family) home for Thanksgiving! It will be fun to experience a Hawaiian Thanksgiving =) They make really yummy food too; Erika is a fabulous cook!

We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Some of you were wondering what Meagan's hair looks like down

I finally caught Meagan saying Hi and waving =)

Happy Halloween

Celebrating Halloween in Hawaii was so much warmer than in Nevada.  Normally we have to come up with costumes that are warm and layered. This year Meagan got be a cute little ladybug and I didn't have to track down matching tights or under shirts :-) Our church put together a haunted house and we were able to go and help out. It was very fun to get to be a part of this community a little bit more. While my parents were visiting we also got to go to a pumpkin patch. Meagan was scared of the pumpkins.
